Tyler Hill
Designer
Tyler is a highly skilled Set and Costume Designer with extensive experience in stage, exhibition, public art, film and television. He graduated from WAAPA (Set & Costume Design, 2016) and is an alumnus of the Black Swan Resident Artist Program (2018).
He has designed sets and costumes for a range of prestigious organisations and events, including Perth Festival, The Farm, Sydney Theatre Company, West Australian Opera, CO3 Contemporary Dance, Tura Music, Barking Gecko Theatre Company, Last Great Hunt, Black Swan, DADAA, Lost & Found Opera, The Blue Room Theatre, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and Western Australian Museum.
Concurrently, Tyler has worked as a Set Designer and Draftsperson on television series The Twelve (Season Two & Three), Scrublands (Season Two) and feature films Overture, Runt, The Furnace, Dirt Music and Otherlife.
As a Design Associate, Assistant and Draftsperson, Tyler has also worked with other established Theatre Designers Zoë Atkinson and Elizabeth Gadsby and Marg Horwell. He is also proficent at using Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Twin Motion and a confident Illustrator, Painter, Model Maker and has experience preparing designs for 3D printing, lazer cutting and CNC.
Tyler's impressive list of awards and accolades is a testament to his talent and dedication to his craft. His awards include Matilda Award for Best Design (2023), David Hough Award for Outstanding Achievement in Design (WAAPA, 2016), two PAWA awards for Best Design (2018 & 2019) and The Blue Room Award for Best Overall Design (2021).
